GNOPPG welcomes Jackie Haggerty for our April 21, 2008 meeting at Professional Color Service in Metairie.

Flashback to the Past! The Glamour Lighting from the 1940’s is making its way back, and this program will show you how you can achieve this once-again-popular style in your studio. Using the equipment you already own as a very simple and effective setup, we will go through the process of setting up the lighting style and photographing a model. We will then process the images in Photoshop with techniques to enhance the glamour look. This style is becoming increasingly popular with High School Seniors and is a great look for any age.

About the Speaker….
Jackie Haggerty is a nationally recognized, award winning photographer, business owner and teacher. Jackie has mastered the technique of retro glamour lighting and is now mentoring several students in her innovative style. Additionally, she is known for her amazing senior portrait work-incorporating a fashion flair to make her place in her market.

She opened her first studio in 2003 and then again began anew in 2006 in Bloomington, IL to take advantage of a job opportunity for her family. In her new studio, Jackie focused on High School Seniors knowing that it required a commitment to excellent quality, competing, finding mentors and creating a signature style.

A newcomer to print competition, Jackie had three images accepted for exhibit at 2007 Imaging USA in Tampa, and is already on track for 2008 Imaging in Phoenix with 2 regional seals. Also, in this very short time she has racked up an amazing record of state on local awards including 2007 Illinois Senior Photographer of the Year, 2007 Seniors’ Choice Folio, 2007 Illinois Best Senior Girl Folio and Mid America Regional Conference 3rd Place Commercial. Displaying the enthusiasm and drive she is known for, she has also entered out of state competitions and was awarded the Court of Honor award in New Hampshire, as well as a 6 for 6 award for all 6 prints in her case judged as merit images.

Jackie is a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) with 2 specialty endorsements as well- High School Seniors and Family Portraits. She is a member of the Associated Professional Photographers of Illinois, serves on the Board of Directors for the Professional Photographers Association of Northern Illinois and Professional Photographers of America.
